After looked Klayar beach on the internet, makes me really intend to go to this beach. Check the map and route from Yogyakarta to Klayar and Pacitan. I prepared all my gear, put Nikon D800 and D80 infrared into my Lower Pro bag. Together with my wife and daughter, I slid into the southbound lanes, through Piyungan – Wonosari – Pracimantoro – Klayar Beach. The condition of the road from the main road towards the beach is quite narrow and pretty good condition, so if passed by another vehicle from the opposite direction had to be careful.
Just about hundred meters before entering the beach, I have to pay entrance ticket Rp5000/person, after climbing a hill – I was treated to views of the charming beach with big waves. My wife and daughter enjoyed the beach Klayar western part which is relatively flat and wide. At the west part, I stare of big waves hit the walls of the hill with an loud of wave, a few shots I made on the west coast this Klayar. Kinda hard for me to draw near rocky location, because it is forbidden and dangerous.
I went to the eastern part of the beach; here’s a new look at the splendor of the beach Klayar form limestone hills like statues of “SPHINX” in Egypt. Big waves hit in between the hills and forming a beautiful waterfall. After determining several spots to shoot, accompanied by my wife and daughter. I made some shooting waterfalls. It was very charming and some waves with the impression of “Silky Water”. I also shot them with the Fisheye lens – the picture gives the impression of a more unique, memorable “close” to the waves and more dramatic. The waterfalls in the middle of the hill, showed a wide spray with a beautiful background of hills “Sphinx”. This location is a favorite spot for landscape photographers. The limestone hills “Sphinx” which also form the waterfall after the waves, revealing the beauty of the unique and different from the next hill. Unfortunately, the location of “Seruling Samudera” (Ocean Flutes) we didn’t allowed to get in, because the big wave season as a hazardous location.
The sun went down, I still carry on some shots while my wife and daughter were waiting in the vehicle. Darkening atmosphere with waves roar – the giant waves, for me adds to the atmosphere on the beach Klayar natural and I feel a little creature in front of God. Allahu Akbar …! Took several long exposure shots, I just realized that along the beach there is street lights which make it beautiful night shots.
After dark, hit the road for over stay in Pacitan We stay in Prasasti Hotel hear of town square of Pacitan, this hotel is quite comfortable and good at a price of Rp750,000 per night. In this Pacitan town, take walk around city and get chance to shot of “Agung” Mosque. The next day, I drove back home.
